Frank McComb originally recorded "Christmas Day" in 1994 and released it on "A MoJazz Christmas" for Motown's jazz label MoJazz. Because it wasn't released and promoted as a single, McComb decided to re-record it and release it on Thanksgiving Day 2021 through his own imprint, Boobeescoot Music.

Verse 1
Look outside and all around, snow is all over the ground.
Though it's so cold, winter's nothing without snow.
And in the house there's so much to do, celebrating around the smell of food.
And under the tree are presents for you and me, oh yeah.
Lights around the Christmas tree are brightly lit to help the mood to flow.
Lovers playin' silly games around the house with the mistletoe...

...on Christmas Day, friends are gay, hearts are filled with lots of love and joy
Christmas cheer, winter's here. Snow angels made by the girls
and snowball battles with the boys, yeah.

Now Christmas ain't always about exchanging gifts. This we all know is a man-made myth
so take this time and evaluate that in your mind.
There's someone out there less fortunate than you. He's got no shirt on his back and on his feet no shoes.
Count your blessings today if you're fortunate not to have to live that way.
Christmas ain't all about what kind of gift you get, but what kind of gift you can give.
Just be thankful that you have the gift of life, help another to live...
