This body of work was recorded live at the same club where Donny Hathaway recorded his 1972 release "Donny Hathaway Live". McComb was encouraged by jazz/pop vocal and guitar legend George Benson to make it a tribute to Hathaway after the late Kenny Gorka (club owner/manager) asked him to make a live recording there.
